Funny what the word “vacation” means these days! But, it’s back to the grind here on SMP and we have a MUCH requested feature going up this morning. A Menswear Round-Up that our editor Carrie put together for all of you! Each of the looks is totally versatile…what may be perfect for one couple’s rehearsal dinner is ideal for another couple’s wedding.

Bridesmaids Dresses by 57Grand

We have been DYING to share the latest addition to our Look Book Bridesmaid section with you…the fabulous 57 Grand . The reason that we love 57Grand so very much is that their dresses are modern while still being kind of timeless, they are fun and flirty while still being appropriate for a traditional wedding. Plus, they have an insanely simple online ordering process for your girls that actually allows you to log into a discussion board with your girls…which, of course, made it a perfect addition to our Look Book! And although it may sound cliche, these dresses are MADE to wear again and again and again.

Here is a quick look at the Brunch Farewell that the wedding vendors designed just for this lovely couple… Thank you so much to the following vendors for sharing this incredible adventure here with us today

Santa Barbara Wedding by Jose Villa, III

The last time we featured one of Jose’s little pieces of heaven , someone left a funny comment about me kissing some serious Jose booty. Well, Jose just happens to send me THE best weddings so the kissing is well deserved…and as long as he continues to be one of the most brilliant photographers around, the kissing will definitely keep on keepin’! Jose Villa’s photographs just have a swagger about them…they are graceful while still being fresh and contemporary

October Wedding In Texas From Andrea Polito

Abby and I were both born and raised in Texas. So when we tell you about the 20 golden days of October, well…we know what we’re talking about! Both of Abby’s sisters were married in Houston, in October and we couldn’t have asked for any better weather. Impressed the heck out of all of our northern kinfolk! Almost convinced them that we don’t live in the desert … almost! And like all Texas Octobers ~  these past few weeks in Houston have been spot on with glorious days! Sometimes, we get to share our Little Black Book members’ own weddings, but today … LBB photographer Andrea Polito is one of the lovely maids in the wedding! Her friends Alexis and Andy were married on one of those golden October days (2008) in a gorgeous fall wedding in Dallas! Here’s what Alexis had to tell us about her wedding… Our floral designers from Fete des Fleurs in Dallas created the most romantic arch for the ceremony with leaves and flowers in rust, cream, and green

Mixture of Western Yet Indian Wedding Dress

by Laura Coles A dress that was a mixture of western yet indian From this bride’s own words: I initially chose a red wedding dress as this is the traditional colour for Sikh brides (my husband is Sikh), however having always dreamt of what my wedding would be like from a young age – I had always imagined that I would get married in traditional white, hence the reason I was sceptical at first as to whether a red colour dress would suit me – all I can say is the red dress was a complete success and was so much better than a white dress. As I started looking at the difference between red and white dresses and trying styles that suited me – I always chose the red over the white, however couldn’t quite find “THE dress” in red. I eventually persuaded my mother-in-law who is a teacher/artist/seamstress/dressmaker (practically anything you need her to be) to take on the massive job of creating me a perfect dress and when I saw the finished product I was completely gobsmacked and instantly fell in love with it

Silveryberry Occasions Guest Blog Post: A Halloween Wedding is One Without the Ghosts

This year with Halloween falling on a Saturday (which won’t happen again until 2015!), many fun couples have taken advantage of this date and are having Halloween weddings ! From talking to Halloween couples (as we’ve unofficially dubbed them), we’ve discovered there are two main ways people are handling this event: Some are going all-out Halloween with costumes, ghosts…the works, while others are choosing to mark the occasion in a more subtle, yet still Halloween inspired way. Neither way is right or wrong – it of course comes down to the couple’s personality, and both can be just as fun! We’re sure that those who want to throw dress up Halloween weddings with gravestones, witches and zombies already have tons of ideas up their costumed sleeves, so we wanted to share some ideas to those who love the holiday, yet don’t want their wedding to scream “BOO!” or “Trick-or-Treat!” Location For a Halloween/Fall inspired look, try venues that are more rustic and gothic feeling
