Jodhaa AkbarJodhaa Akbar This epic movie made tabloid headlines thanks to its big budget, vast sprawling sets, accomplished actors such as Aishwarya Rai and Hritik Roshan in leading roles, soul-stirring music, elaborate war scenes, excellent cinematography and, of course, stunningly gorgeous outfits and jewellery. Set in the 16th century, it is an endearing tale of how Mughal emperor Jalaluddin Mohammad Akbar (Hritik Roshan) fell in love with a Rajput princess Jodha Bai (Aishwarya Rai) after they were subjected to a ‘politically arranged’ marriage, much to Jodha’s dismay. A film about royal dynasties, the outfits are justifiably lavish and extravagant, not to forget the gorgeous traditional jewellery that, ironically, created new trends

In India, holi is not the only festival of colors; Navratri too can be called as festival of colors. During Navratri, look around you and you will find colors and happiness all around, and it is not just for one day like holi but as its name suggests (Navratri), it is for nine good days! During Navratri, people (especially women) dress up in nine different colors on each day. Isn’t it interesting! When I see many people wearing the same color it feels really good, as it ensures that we still cling on to our tradition.

Mood Board for F/W 09.10 I know im posting about this a little late, but the last week or so has just been a little hetic and i’ve only had the chance to go through the F/W collections now. In many ways, i always look forward to winter collections, with the use of layers, warm colours, beautiful coats and accessories that will hopefully keep me snug in the cold. One of the first collections that appeals to my eyes is Anna Sui’s F/W 09.10 Collection, and im actually quite surprised since i usually run a mile from prints! Anna Sui takes inspiration from La Belle Epoque, and uses soft crushed velvet, colourful jewel tone paisleys, delicate chiffon and a whole range of other textures to present a very pretty and fun collection

Bollywood’s current fav Katrina Kaif graces the cover of Vogue India this month, with this being her second cover for the magazine this year! The first time round ( Link ) she was sitting in pretty pink, styled by Jean Paul Gaultier. This time Vogue seems to have gone for a more seductive and glam look, and the jewel tone of the Versace piece fits in perfectly for the time of year. Overall, it is a nice cover and i love the midnight/darkness feel to it.

There was a time when super rich Indians used to fly to Singapore , London , New York , Paris or Milan to enjoy shopping for their favorite luxury brands. But the liberalization of the Indian economy is rapidly changing the overall economic scenario and more and more Indians are being flushed with disposable income. These neo-rich Indians are not averse to splurge their money on exclusively branded products by such iconic names like Jimmy Choo, Christian Dior, Chanel, Versace, Gucci, Rolex, Omega, Louis Vuitton or Dunhill.
