Catwalk Trend Winter StripesStylish stripes aren’t restricted to a nautical summer wardrobe; as a matter of fact stripes are also great for the winter months; unlike the predictable navy and white stripes, winter striped fabrics are a mixture of vibrant colours, fabric and textures. This season we saw a return to the early 1980’s stripe mania with horizontal asymmetric metallic stripes on skirts and long jumpers or cardigans. Stilorama Magazine’s fashion director says ” try not to overdo it with wearing too many striped fabrics at ones, for best effect wear your stripes with velvet, jersey or wool.” For more trendy catwalk news visit Britain’s most popular fashion blog . It comes as no surprise that fur is a big trend to follow this autumn and winter. This warm soft fabric is a sure way to turn us into glamorous goddesses in an instant, and I am not talking about old fashioned fur coats, but the real style must-haves of the season. From casual warm mongolian trim wool to cropped fake fur gilets. As with most designers the real deal still applies and the most popular fur is the rabbit. Stilorama Magazine’s Fashion Director Hala Di-Maio shops for her favourite fur of the season and she says “don’t fall victim to the old fashion school of thought; fur is more upbeat and is best worn as part of a casual outfit and during the day. Mix it with leather, wool, tartan or simply wear it as an accessory like a scarf, a hat, gloves, trimmings on jackets or boots.” For more style tips and fashion reviews visit stilorama magazine . Take a look at Bleu de Paname’s holiday colection. The companies new line is a Gallic take on functional American workwear with contemporary touches, Bleu de Paname’s first collection launched in spring / summer ‘09 through a few select stores. With denim originating from France (The Serge fabric was originally made in the French city of Nîmes therefore known as ‘Serge de Nîmes’, the name was shortened to ‘denim’ by Americans in the late eighteenth century) it’s interesting to see French designers putting their spin on what we’ve come to consider typically American

After staging the post-apocalyptic world through the autumn Blind Faith collection, Triumvir adds another layer to the epic by introducing the antagonist in its winter collection, entitled Hell is for Heroes. Influences of the col- lection include both fictional depictions of villains as well as the lengths that religious military orders would go for their beliefs historically. With a darker color scheme, a grittier feel, and a dispirit- ing overtone, pieces from the winter collection serve as a direct contrast to those of the fall

Since no one can smoke anywhere anymore, especially in New York City, we are forced to go outside and brave the elements just to get a few puffs and enjoy a quick word with the co-workers. Freeze no more with these new mittens that now features a little hole where a nice cigarette or any other smoking apparatus that can fit can be nicely places and enjoyed without freezing your fingers off. A downside might be that you have to take off the mitten to place the cigarette actually up in the hole, but we recommend that you take care of that before you leave the building.

This last Saturday night, M Revelli, Lynzy Blair of FIFTy24SF, and myself headed down to the Laguna Art Museum for an opening of Jeremy Fish’s first museum show, “Weathering the Storm.” I guess I didn’t know what to expect, but once we got there it was amazing to see how many people came out to support Mr Fish; friends, fellow artists, fans, the curious types, members of the museum, all different, joined and made the opening a pretty special evening. Check out some shots from the show on the flip…
