Sweet Buds With Modest Pride

“I stood tip-toe upon a little hill, The air was cooling, and so very still, That the sweet buds which with a modest pride Pull droopingly, in slanting curve aside, Their scantly leaved, and finely tapering stems, Had not yet lost those starry diadems Caught from the early sobbing of the morn.

Ziggi Studio Store Review: Sherwanis for every man

A few months ago I received an invitation to attend the launch party for Ziggi Studio and a chance to see their brand new showroom. After the spectacular display of Mughal-inspired wedding sherwanis that they showcased on the catwalk at the London and Birmingham Asiana Wedding events (click here to see photos if you missed them) I was interested to see what the clothes looked like up close and to

Bird’s Eye View

I brought my favorite cape out for another blustery day here in old Washington (as evidenced by the wind blowing my hair in my face). I actually saw several small whirlwinds build a few yards from me, threatening to turn into dust devils. I considered seeking shelter until the wind died down…but what’s the point of life if you hide from a little breeze

A Wounded Deer Leaps The Highest

I’m fairly certain my grandmother has some of those plastic deer in her yard, if not in her yard there are a least some lurking in bushes of her neighborhood. Next time I visit her I will have to do some cutesy poses with them ala Briony Ridley . The real deer I come across out here are less cuddly and stationary.

The Crow Wished Everything Black

Snoozer Loser is an amazing indie label that I have been eyeing for ages and just now got my hands on a piece of theirs. In addition to making pretty dresses (which are sweet without being saccharine), they offer a number of accessories; their hand printed scarves feature designs from scarabs to antique scissors and birdcages. My dress has an antique crochet trim balanced with a pleated black cotton and so wearable for every season

Friends in Foreign Countries

It is really wonderful to have friends in foreign countries when they send you cool care packages filled with strange sweet and magazines you can’t properly read; like May 2010′s Vogue Nippon. This jewelry spread in Vogue Nippon really caught my eye. I love the pop art colors imposed over top film noir-esque pictures shots in black and white

This is my last post from the fashion show at the B4U Lycamobile Asian Mela 2010, and it’s one of my new favourite designers – Ziggi Studio!I’ve posted some of Ziggi’s previous fashion show appearances at the 2009 clothes show live and at the Asiana magazine wedding/bridal shows, and was keen to see what would be on show this time. I really liked the styling at this show and it was so different

I’d Rather Suit My Foot Than Save My Boot

“Is bliss, then, such abyss I must not put my foot amiss For fear I spoil my shoe? I ’d rather suit my foot Than save my boot, For yet to buy another pair Is possible At any fair. But bliss is sold just once; The patent lost None buy it any more.” -Emily Dickinson When I put this dress on I was reminded that it was over a year ago this vintage beauty came into my possession.
